HSCNI Apps 4 Dementia – Case Study
There are 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK today and numbers are set to rise to more than 1 million by 2025. In support of World Alzheimer’s Month, we’re sharing how health apps can make a practical difference to people living with dementia and their carers.
Health apps can help across a wide range of areas including cognitive training, sharing memories, staying calm, medication reminders, sleeping and carer support.
Jack and Kevin are living with dementia. In our latest video, hear them discuss the difference apps are making to their lives, since the launch of an Apps Library for those with dementia by Northern Ireland’s Health and Social Care Board. You can also hear Jack’s wife share her advice: “Go in and look at these apps, find out what suits the person, because they are really, really beneficial.” The dementia App Library can be found at apps4dementia.orcha.co.uk
