ORCHA Review
The ORCHA Review is a robust digital health assessment that underpins a large proportion of the world’s national and regional digital accreditation models.
Our intelligent Review looks at a digital health technology’s nature and purpose, and identifies which of the 350+ criteria points it meets across Clinical/Professional Assurance, Data & Privacy, and Usability & Accessibility. The Review comprises nationally recognised digital health standards and regulations, and now includes an adapted version of the NICE Evidence Standards Framework. ORCHA’s algorithm looks at how appropriately the technology meets the relevant and compulsory standards, producing an objective and independent score.
Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC)
Developed by NHSX, the Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC) for health and social care is a new advisory assessment criteria for the commissioning of digital health technologies.
Meeting the standard is a requirement for all digital products which are commissioned by NHS groups. At ORCHA, our team of Digital Health Assessors can work with you to assess your compliance with the standard and give you any necessary recommendations.
The DTAC covers Clinical Safety, Data Protection, Technical Security, Interoperability, and Usability & Accessibility. We can help guide you through the process of meeting the key criteria in each of these sections.
Automatic Re-Reviews
As digital health products are continuously updated, ORCHA continuously re-assesses all health and care apps that appear on our Digital Health Libraries. Our intelligent review platform makes this possible.
Our Review Engine automatically detects when a developer implements a new version of its digital health product via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. ORCHA’s Review Team then schedule a Re-Review, ensuring that every app assessment on our Digital Health Libraries reflects the most up-to-date version of the digital health solutions. This process closes the accreditation loop by constantly monitoring all reviewed digital health solutions for any changes in compliance.
Enhanced Review Modules
Health and care organisations often have additional, specific areas they need an app to be evaluated against. The NHS DTAC is a good example. ORCHA can add these as an additional layer to the ORCHA Review.
There are currently seven Enhanced Review areas, including: User/Patient Experience Analysis, Specialist Clinical Assessment, Commercial & Financial Stability, Enhanced Evidence Assessment, Clinical Safety Analysis, Enhanced Data Analysis, and Security & Technical Stability Assessment. New modules are continuously being developed as we explore new digital health assessment areas.
Bespoke Reviews
If our standard Review or enhanced modules don’t meet all your review needs, the ORCHA Review Engine can incorporate bespoke review criteria.
Our platform can undertake reviews that include the measures used in national accreditation programmes. Such criteria may be specific to a health condition area, patient type, geography or jurisdiction. Bespoke Reviews are often used as part of purchasing platforms, such as the NHS London Procurement Partnership. Please contact us if you are interested in our bespoke Reviews.
